Baby Unit – Dormice (12 weeks to 10 months)

Enter through the white picket safety gate and you will be greeted by the warm and friendly staff managing our Dormice room in the baby unit. This is definitely our “sunshine room” because it’s well positioned to catch the sun whatever time of the day - bright, warm and airy, this room is perfect for your baby.

Your baby can join Dormice if they are aged between 12 weeks and 10 months and with lots of activities and familiar toys it will be a very welcoming, fun and pleasant environment for them to spend their day. Being a self-contained and open-plan room, nursery staff can keep a watchful eye over the small group of babies even when caring for another baby in the changing area.

The activities your baby will partake in are all centred around tactile play or “Squashy Fun” as we like to call it! It allows your baby to develop news skills through sensory touch which they really enjoy.

One of the babies favourite activities is our Treasure Basket. Every nursery room at Woodlands has their own exciting basket and within ours are lots of natural materials, of all shapes, textures and sizes just waiting to be explored. Or maybe we will share some fun and giggles with our puppet collection – Monkey and Cheetah always amuse!

On warmer days we can enjoy time in the garden exploring our sensory boxes or other outside activities.
